This month we have a special installment of our monthly longWKND series at the Del Monte Speakeasy. In the spirit of Movember, we’ll be donating all the proceeds of this show to benefit the Movember Foundation.
The Movember Foundation is the leading global men’s health charity, committed to changing the face of men’s health through the power of a strong community of people sharing the same goals. They achieve this by challenging men to grow moustaches and women to support the men in their lives during Movember (the month formerly known as November). Participants help spark conversation and raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health problems.
L.A. WITCH. This group of Angelino female rockers “recalls the early ragged glory of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or the Black Angels” (Buzzbands LA) with its “haunted surf rock, road trip blues and 60′s-sounding psychedelia” (L.A. Weekly).
SADGIRL. Lo-fi surf-wop. Sadgirl is a young trio from West Los Angeles who has been popping up all over our radar lately. Very excited to have them aboard for this month’s longWKND.
